    Book Description. Edward Elgar rose from obscurity to become the most popular English composer of his day. Elgar's music is known world-wide and works such as the 'Enigma Variations' and 'The Dream of Gerontius' together with the two symphonies and the two concertos have established him as one of the greatest British composers of all time. Björk started her career after a recording of her rendition of Tina Charles' song "I Love to Love" became popular on Icelandic first eponymous solo release, considered juvenilia, was released under Fálkinn label in Thereafter, Björk ventured into bands, singing as the lead vocalist of groups like Tappi Tíkarrass, Kukl, the Elgar Sisters and, most notably, the Sugarcubes.

    Life. Poe was the son of the English-born actress Elizabeth Arnold Poe and David Poe, Jr., an actor from Baltimore. After his mother died in Richmond, Virginia, in , he was taken into the home of John Allan, a Richmond merchant (presumably his godfather), and of his childless was later taken to Scotland and England (–20), where he was given a classical education that was. Elgar wrote relatively little for the piano, but his Salut d’amour (‘Love’s Greeting’), originally written for his wife and bearing a German title, has proved popular both in its original form and in a multitude of arrangements.
